MIAMI – Today may be Giving Tuesday, but with so many nonprofits around the Miami area, it's difficult to know where to send your donations. The following list represents 100 charities around Miami that received the greatest number of donations during The Miami Foundation's recent Give Miami Day. The event generated a total of 31,820 separate gifts totaling $10.1 million, more than in any of the five previous years, according to organizers.
Other organizations that did not make our list may have raised larger — but fewer — donations. All of the organizations on our list represent local non profits covering a wide spectrum of interests from arts and housing to science and technology.
“Miami came through for our local non-profits like never before,” said Javier Alberto Soto, president and CEO of The Miami Foundation. “It is inspiring to see people want to give no matter the amount."
