Hooters South Florida Employees Make Christmas in July Deliveries to Local Hospital

The spirit of Christmas is shining. Several Hooters employees had the opportunity to deliver donations of stuffed animals, games, Legos and additional toys to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital on July 18 as part of the hospital’s Christmas in July donation drive.

Sophia Seguin who works at Weston Hooters and Helena Barros who works at Fort Lauderdale Beach Place Hooters delivered donations that filled the Child Life Department’s rolling bin. The toys will be used for the children year-round for special celebrations and milestones.

In addition, Selena Sanchez who works at Pembroke Pines Hooters took part in a birthday party for a 15-year-old patient Lucas at the hospital on July 21. Hooters celebrated the teen with lunch from the restaurant for Lucas’ family and hospital staff. He was also surprised with several gifts including Hooters merchandise, a football, t- shirt and a cake to celebrate the special occasion.

“Our employees enjoy partnering with our local children’s hospitals year-round including Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and want to help brighten the kid’s hospital stay,” said South Florida Hooters Director of Marketing Kristi Quarles. In addition to Christmas in July drive, Hooters South Florida also participates in the hospital’s prom, radiothon and monthly visits as part of the restaurant’s Hootie’s Lending Library initiative.
