How to Score a Free Uber Boat Ride on Saturday

MIAMI BEACH – Okay, so you don't like art. Who doesn't love a free boat ride in a city surrounded by beautiful turquoise waters? 

Ridesharing giant Uber – in partnership with Effen Vodka – is offering free UberBOAT rides from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday between Miami Beach and the city of Miami.

If you're lucky enough to score one of the free rides for up to six riders per request, you'll get to jet across Biscayne Bay in either direction on a luxury yacht.

Here's how it works: You have to be inside one of Uber's specially designated Art Week request zones – essentially South Beach, downtown Miami and Wynwood – when you open up the Uber app. Choose the option for UberBOAT if it's available at the time.

If not, keep trying a lot of people want a free boat ride.

The boats run between the marinas on Purdy Avenue and 17th Street in Miami Beach and the Sea Isle Marina off Bayshore Avenue and NE 16th Street in the city of Miami.

Uber has been offering special promotions, including seaplanes and boat rides to help celebrate Miami Art Week and Art Basel since Thursday.

If you prefer to stay on dry land, you can also request a complimentary EFFEN Upgrade in your Uber app within one of the special zones.

Limited Edition LUX SUVs, wrapped in custom art by artist Kwue Molly, will take you to and from events within the request zones if you score one of the complimentary ride upgrades.

You'll also get access to a custom photo booth where you can snap and share photos with others. The EFFEN Upgrade is available between 4 p.m. and midnight on Saturday.

Additionally, Effen Vodka is offering Uber riders up to $5 off any ride that either begins or ends in the request zones with promo code EFFENRIDE in the Uber app between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Some Uber riders have already scored free aerial tours of Miami on a first-ever UberSEAPLANE.
