Miami may fund new Allapattah agency amidst county legal battle (miamitodaynews.com) — Miami is weighing a $40 million, five-year Neighborhood Revitalization Fund for Allapattah while preparing for a possible legal fight with Miami-Dade County over the new Community Redevelopment Agency's authority. Commissioners will consider setting aside $8 million annually for housing, infrastructure, business support, and neighborhood improvements, with funds held pending the outcome of ongoing litigation over the CRA's legality.
   

2. Farmers markets could expand venues to Miami's city parks (miamitodaynews.com) — Miami residents may soon see more farmers markets in neighborhood parks as commissioners consider a new, streamlined approval process on Sept. 24. The proposal would keep existing permits and rules but create a dedicated park-use system, potentially expanding access to fresh local food while protecting park space, programming, and public access through site plans, time limits, and new fee structures.
   

3. Miami to act on new rules for e-bikes and motorized scooters (miamitodaynews.com) — If you ride e-bikes or scooters in Miami, new citywide rules could soon change where and how fast you can travel, and where you're allowed to park. Commissioners are set to consider an ordinance Sept. 24 that would ban riding on most sidewalks, cap speeds at 20 mph, restrict use to slower streets and bike lanes, and impose fines up to $100 for violations.
   

4. GTA 6 Turns Miami into Vice City with a $975,000 Rooftop Sign (beebom.com) — Miami residents will soon see a massive "Welcome to Vice City" sign atop the Kaseya Center, part of a $975,000 marketing deal paying Miami-Dade County for GTA 6 promotion. Officials weighed even bolder ideas, like rebranding parts of Miami International Airport, but some raised concerns about using public property to advertise a violent, crime-focused game.
   

5. Haitian woman admits falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to vote in 2024 election in Miami-Dade, DOJ says (cbsnews.com) — A Haitian woman has pleaded guilty to falsely claiming U.S. citizenship on voter registration forms submitted to the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections, then casting a ballot in the 2024 general election. Federal prosecutors say she now faces up to five years in prison, as the U.S. Attorney stresses that enforcing election laws remains a priority in South Florida.
