Hurricane Irma Florida: Miami-Dade County Ends Curfew
BREAKING: Cities could still have local curfews in effect so residents should check with them for more information.

MIAMI, FL — Hurricane Irma has passed through Miami-Dade County and a dawn-until-dusk curfew is no longer in effect.
The countywide curfew had been enforced between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday that he had lifted the curfew. Cities could still have local curfews in effect though, he said, so residents should double check with them too to make sure it's ok to be out after dusk.
Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado said he too would lift a curfew that had been in place since Saturday but that it could be reimposed if necessary. Seventy percent of people in Miami were still without power as of Tuesday and officials were especially concerned about elderly and disabled residents, who could be isolated.(For more information on Hurricane Irma's affect on the county and other Miami stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.
