Hurricane Irma Florida: PortMiami Cruise Hub To Open
PortMiami is located in Biscayne Bay and is Miami-Dade County's "second most important economic engine," the port's website said.
MIAMI, FL — PortMiami — the unofficial cruise capital of the world that's officially dubbed the Dante B. Fascell Port of Miami — will open Tuesday.
The seaport tweeted Monday morning that it had closed indefinitely as it underwent U.S. Coast Guard surveys. But it later updated that announcement on its website, saying the port would open Tuesday. Marine Terminals POMTOC and SFCT could open Wednesday if final tests go well.
Cruise travelers are asked to contact their cruise line for details about their itineraries.
