MIAMI, FL — The husband of a South Florida woman reported missing in Spain was arrested Saturday at the Miami International Airport in connection with her disappearance, according to the National Police and several media reports.

The National Police announced Monday that David Knezevich, 36, was detained at the airport in connection with the disappearance of his estranged Colombia-born wife, 40-year-old Ana María Knezevich Henao.

Knezevich was arrested following a landing into Miami from Serbia, his home country, NBC Miami reported.

Fort Lauderdale's Sanna Rameau, a friend of Henao, previously told media it was believed that Henao was "taken against her will."

Henao, who was briefly staying in an apartment, disappeared after a man with a covered face reportedly spray-painted security cameras in her building.

USA Today reported a search was underway for Henao, who was visiting Spain amid "a difficult divorce." The Department of the State was investigating the case, the outlet reported.

The news of Knezevich's arrest comes nearly three months after he reportedly rejected claims that he was involved in Henao's disappearance.

Ken Padowitz, Knezevich's Florida-based attorney, told the Associated Press that Knezevich was in Serbia at the time Henao was reported missing.

The couple had been married for 13 years and own EOX Technology Solutions Inc., which provides computer support in South Florida, the Associated Press reported.
