Trump Met With Kyle Rittenhouse At Mar-A-Lago After Teen’s Acquittal In Fatal Shootings

PALM BEACH, FL — Kyle Rittenhouse made a stop at Mar-a-Lago during his recent visit to Florida to meet with Donald Trump, the former president told Sean Hannity Tuesday.

Trump said Rittenhouse visited his private club — and permanent Florida residence — in Palm Beach with his mother. He didn’t say when the 18-year-old met with him, but said the teen left Mar-a-Lago “a little while ago.”

During the live interview, which aired during the Fox News show “Hannity,” the conservative talk show host shared a picture from their meeting.

Trump called Rittenhouse “a really good young guy,” during the interview. He said the teen is “a fan” and called to request the visit.

Rittenhouse was also spotted in Southwest Florida over the weekend when he stopped at a Charlotte County restaurant. He was visiting the area to record an interview with Tucker Carlson, who has a home in Boca Grande, for Fox News.

On Friday, a Wisconsin jury found Rittenhouse not guilty after he shot three protesters in Kenosha — two of them fatally — last year during a period of civil unrest in the city.

Protesters took to the streets in Kenosha following the shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, by white police officers in August 2020.

Rittenhouse was acquitted of first-degree reckless homicide, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and attempted first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, on the third night of protests.

He was also acquitted of attempted first-degree intentional homicide in the shooting that injured a third protester, Gaige Grosskreutz, now 28. A misdemeanor weapons charge was dismissed by the jury.

Trump told Hannity that Rittenhouse was subjected to “prosecutorial misconduct” throughout the trial.

“He should not have had to suffer through a trial for that,” the former president said. “He was gonna be dead if he didn’t pull that trigger. That guy that put the gun to his head, in one-quarter of a second, he was gonna pull the trigger. Kyle would have been dead.”
