Lauderhill Police Kill Robbery Suspect: Reports

LAUDERHILL, FL — Police officers were involved in a shooting on West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderhill. Police said officers were responding to the area near Inverray Boulevard Sunday morning.

"Large crime scene, please avoid the area," police said in a tweet.

Local10 reported that an officer shot a man who had robbed a woman Sunday at a Valero gas station in Sunrise and was on the run.

WTVJ-TV reported that the suspect shot at the officer and the officer shot back.

The suspect was hit and rushed to a hospital in stable condition, police told WTVJ. The officer was not hurt.
