Miami-Dade County To Honor Lives Lost To Coronavirus

The county will join a nationwide tribute to those who have died from COVID-19 by illuminating prominent buildings Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — Miami-Dade County will join cities and counties across the nation in a memorial to remember and honor the lives lost to coronavirus, the county said in a news release.

As part of the tribute, buildings across Miami-Dade — including the Freedom Tower, PortMiami, Marlins Park, Stephen P. Clark Center and many others — will be illuminated and churches will ring their bells at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava encourages the public to participate in the memorial and remember the more than 4,500 county residents lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. She invites the entire community to join her in a countywide moment of silence at 5:30 p.m.
