Miami police reported that one person was taken into custody early Thursday morning following a hostage situation.

MIAMI, FL — A man was taken into custody early Thursday morning following a standoff that played out overnight, according to Miami police. Police said they were called Thursday morning to an apartment building in the 1300 block of NW 2 Street for a loud music complaint. The suspect fired a weapon inside the apartment, but no officer was hit.
Police said the man was a military veteran armed with a rifle, according to multiple reports. Early reports indicated there was a hostage situation, but that was not accurate, police said.
The man later turned himself in without incident about 3 a.m. He has not been identified.
