New Executive Leader at UI&U Florida Academic Center

Dr. Jay Keehn is the new executive director at the Union Institute & University Florida Academic Center.

His goal is to expand collaboration with Florida communities to provide career paths that meet workforce demands and advance the impact a degree from Union makes.

“I want Florida communities to know that we support their needs with targeted degree programs in Criminal Justice Management, Elementary Education, Social Work, Hospitality, and many more” said Dr. Keehn. “I also want to be sure everyone understands that Union specializes in adult education and its approach to adult degrees is unique and innovative.

Founded 53 years ago, in 1964, Union has perfected the adult delivery model: Specialized distance-learning programs that combine online and classroom coursework with high-touch faculty attention, designed for students regardless of where they live and work. Provost and vice president for academic affairs Dr. Nelson Soto looks forward to the impact Dr. Keehn will have on higher education in the state.

Dr. Keehn is a veteran Union employee. He began his career at Union in 2005 and has served as faculty/advisor, director of the M.Ed. program, and associate dean of student services. His Ph.D. is in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Counseling.
