Palmetto Bay Downtown Revitalization up for Discussion

Land planner and architect Victor Dover will lead a town meeting at Village Hall.

PALMETTO BAY, FL — Land planner and architect Victor Dover is scheduled to make a presentation on revitalizing the downtown at 7 p.m. Tuesday at a town hall meeting.

The meeting will take place at Village Hall, according to village officials.

Having led more than 150 charrettes and lectures around the nation, Dover recently coauthored, with John Massengale, the bestselling book "Street Design: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns." He also served as. national chair of Congress for the New Urbanism and he continues to serve as the principal in charge of Dover, Kohl & Partners.

Dover is a recipient of the John Nolen Medal for contributions to urbanism and he serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami.

On Thursday, Frank Guyamier, deputy director of Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Executive Director Aileen Bouclee of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization will host another town hall meeting at 7 p.m.

That meeting also will take place at Village Hall.

Speakers will discuss mobility and transit in Palmetto Bay.

Following the discussion, Palmetto Bay Planning and Zoning Director Travis Kendall will make a presentation on downtown Palmetto Bay.
