Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation Announces Giving Day on August 14

August 14 will mark exactly eight and one-half years ago that students, teachers and administrators started their day they normally do at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. The devastating events of that afternoon turned into the worst school shooting in Florida and one of the worst in the nation. Seventeen beautiful souls lost their lives, more were injured, and countless others and communities were forever changed that tragic day.

On Friday, August 14, the non-profit Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation is hosting a Giving Day to raise funds to build and maintain the official public memorial to memorialize the 14 innocent children, two coaches and one teacher taken from this world all too soon, who like all of us, had shared hopes and dreams about their futures with their families and friends. Now all their hopes and dreams are gone because of a senseless, unprovoked act of gun violence.

The Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Florida not-for-profit corporation established to build the official public memorial to the victims of the Parkland massacre.

Donations will help fund the official public Memorial to honor the 17 victims who were

taken from their families and our community on February 14, 2018: Alyssa Alhadeff, Scott Beigel, Martin Duque Anguiano, Jr., Nicholas Dworet, Aaron Feis, Jaime Guttenberg, Chris Hixon, Luke Hoyer, Cara Loughran, Gina Montalto, Joaquin Oliver, Alaina Petty, Meadow Pollack, Helena Ramsay, Alex Schachter, Carmen Schentrup and Peter Wang.

Anyone can donate at https://parkland17.org/donate/ for the Memorial, which will be located within a quiet, serene 150-acre preserve that borders Coral Springs and Parkland to unite the two affected communities.
