Construction contractor paid Miami-Dade condo manager $185,000 disguised as loans, investigators say (cbsnews.com) — Miami-Dade prosecutors have charged a construction company owner and a condo property manager with running an alleged kickback scheme involving more than $185,000 at Hialeah's Venetian Gardens at Country Club of Miami. Investigators say payments labeled as loans coincided with stalled repair work, and officials argue the case shows new Florida laws are starting to better protect local condo owners.

Miami's Treehouse Venue Reports $20 Million Renovation, With History Tracing Back to Groovejet (edmtunes.com) — A storied Miami Beach nightclub space at 323 23rd Street, home to Groove Jet, Rain, and most recently Treehouse, is undergoing a $20 million renovation and heading back to market.
