In No Exit, 3 sinners have died and gone to Hell. Each of them is brought, one-by-one, into a small room. They have been perfectly matched to be each other’s personal torturers. Tempers burst from hot to cold, as these poor souls try to escape the confines of a love/hate triangle that will doom them for eternity.
The newly formed Small Axe Theatre Group, a small cast of South Florida actors led by the group’s Founder and Director Enrique Galan, is performing the play.
A Miami Dade College alum and local actor, Galan says No Exit represents a series of firsts for him. This is his first experience launching a Theatre Company, his first Directorial debut of a stage play, and the first time he is directing and acting in a theatre production professionally.

“It’s all very challenging and exciting,” said Galan. “ I did the play in college, but we only performed it for two weeks. I felt it wasn’t enough time to really settle into the role of “Cradeau,” nor mature as a performance. It wasn’t given a chance to evolve, as a play does and should, to an almost perfect state; it’s highest possible form. So, I formed the theatre group and we got to work, immediately, in hopes of performing twice as long as I did in college…and now we are doing just that!” Galan added.
Galán has been acting in the film industry for over 12 years. Only in the last year did he find his true love for acting in theatre. Since then, he’s performed in 3 consecutive plays at Miami-Dade College and now is making his professional debut as a stage actor AND director, with the play “No Exit.”
Galan said he started the Small Axe Theatre Group in 2018; 1 month before rehearsals began for “No Exit” and managed to hire a hard-working group of individuals dedicated to their craft who posses a discipline and professionalism that has allowed for quality theatre to happen. The cast now starring: Billyne Francois, Anna Schulman, Juan Pina Marques and Enrique Galán
Galan said the reviews so far have been positive. Theatre reviewer “Oscarito,” respected in Miami’s Spanish theatre community, attended the debut performance and posted to his Facebook Page — “very well-acted and directed.”
Director Galan is encouraging the South Florida Community to come out and support his Small Axe Theatre Group and enjoy what he says is a creative spin on this classic thinking person’s drama. “We’ve gone above and beyond to make this a quality theatre experience,” Galan said.
