Spearfisherman Bit By Shark In Florida Keys: Monroe County Sheriff
A man spearfishing off Islamorada was bitten in the ankle or foot by a shark and airlifted to a Miami hospital, the sheriff's office said.
FLORIDA KEYS — A 22-year-old spearfisherman was airlifted to Miami after being bitten in the ankle or foot by a shark on Friday morning, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
He was spearfishing near Davis Reef off Islamorada when he was bit around 11:30 a.m.
A crew from the U.S. Coast Guard Station Islamorada responded to reports of the shark bite and brought the victim ashore, the sheriff’s office said.

Islamorada Fire Rescue brought him to Founders Park, where he was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center for treatment.
