AT&T and City Year Team Up to Give Miami School a Facelift

100 AT&T Employees Complete Beautification Project at Kelsey L. Pharr Elementary

As part of National Volunteer Month celebrations, about 100 AT&T employees completed a beautification project at Kelsey L. Pharr Elementary School in Miami on April 18. City Year, an education organization that helps students and schools succeed, coordinated the project for AT&T.

The AT&T volunteers spent their day at the N.W. 46th Street school:

  • painting more than 20 murals themed around inspirational quotes, school pride/school logos and school pillars for success; the murals – ranging in size from 2’x3’ to 80’x8’ – will span the entire school campus;
  • painting the teacher’s lounge;
  • building benches;
  • and creating banners with motivational messaging for the cafeteria and teacher’s lounge

"AT&T employees are committed to serving their communities across the country,” said Joe York, president of AT&T Florida. “We are thrilled to partner with City Year’s Care Force team to help transform schools and neighborhoods into brighter, more vibrant spaces for all.”
