AT&T Completes 1,000 Network Upgrades in Miami Market
The improvements are among more than 2,500 statewide to boost reliability and overall network performance for customers.

AT&T is ringing in the new year with the completion of more than 2,500 upgrades to its Florida wireless network in 2019 – including nearly 1,000 in Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The upgrades in Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward counties include:
- More than 600 capacity adds to cell sites to accommodate more network traffic
- Three new cell sites in Weston, Cutler Ridge and Florida City
- Deployment of small cells to densify our network and provide additional coverage
The network enhancements are boosting reliability and overall network performance for local customers.
The upgrades will also benefit public safety and first responders on FirstNet – public safety’s dedicated communications platform. FirstNet is providing a much-needed technology upgrade for first responders’ communications to help those users stay safe and save lives.

By building out its 4G LTE network, AT&T is boosting network speeds and capacity, as it continues to expand the availability of its network and upgrade its technology.
AT&T invested more than $3.2 billion in its Florida wireless and wired networks during 2016-2018 to boost service.
