AT&T Completes More Than 200 Network Upgrades in South Florida
Enhancements are Among 700+ Statewide the Company has Completed in the Last 3 Months

AT&T continues to invest in its South Florida wireless network to increase better reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for customers.
During the last 3 months, the company has completed more than 700 upgrades statewide, including more than 200 in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. This brings the total to more than 2,100 wireless network upgrades AT&T has completed in Florida from January through September of this year.
The local network enhancements made in July, August and September include capacity upgrades to dozens of cell sites to accommodate more network traffic and the activation of a new Distributed Antenna System at a public venue.

“We continue to invest in our network so that customers can get the most out of their mobile devices, wherever they are,” said Joe York, AT&T Florida president. “The more customers engage with premium content, the more access they will need to high-speed connectivity. That’s what our network enhancements are all about.”
These upgrades will also benefit public safety and first responders on FirstNet – public safety’s dedicated communications platform. FirstNet is providing a much-needed technology upgrade for first responders’ communications to help those users stay safe and save lives.

By building out our 4G LTE network, AT&T is boosting network speeds and capacity, as the company continues to expand the availability of its network and upgrade its technology.
During 2016-2018, AT&T invested more than $3.2 billion in its Florida wireless and wired networks to boost service. This investment includes more than $1 billion in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach areas.
