AT&T, Miami Marlins Foundation Team Up to Fight Child Hunger

Foundation receives $25,000 from AT&T Believe Miami initiative to help local youth and young adults achieve their dreams

About 50 AT&T volunteers joined Billy the Marlin and several Miami Marlins prospects in packing sweet potatoes at Feeding South Florida. The Miami Marlins Foundation hosted the volunteer event as part of the AT&T Believe Miami initiative.

Through Believe Miami, AT&T is joining strong, local organizations, such as the Miami Marlins Foundation, on a mission to help remove barriers that keep local youth and young adults from achieving their dreams.

AT&T presented the Foundation with a $25,000 contribution during the Feeding South Florida volunteer event. The grant will support the Miami Marlins Home Plate Meals program focused on underserved youth and families in Liberty City and Little Havana.

AT&T has committed a total of $300,000 to help these 7 organizations provide youth and young adults with the resources they need to succeed in school and life.

“Many community organizations are working diligently and effectively to close the skills gap in Miami, but more needs to be done, and AT&T has the people and the resources to have an impact,” said Joe York, AT&T Florida president. “The more than 5,100 women and men who work for AT&T and call the Miami area home have always shown a strong commitment to community and a desire to cultivate a better and brighter future, and we are committed to removing barriers to success for area youth.”
