Thanksgiving 2021: What’s Open, Closed In Miami-Dade County

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — As Miami-Dade County residents prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services to keep in mind this holiday weekend.

Miami-Dade County government offices: All offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Transportation and Public Works: County transit options will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day. It will return to its regular weekday schedule on Friday. Administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, though Special Transportation Services reservations and cancellations can be made by calling 305-871-1111.

Solid Waste Management: Trash collection and all disposal facilities will operate on a normal schedule.

Miami-Dade Public Libraries: All public libraries will close Thursday through Saturday.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools: All public schools, and regional and district offices will close Wednesday through Friday.

City of Miami government offices: All city offices and facilities will be closed on Thanksgiving.

City of Miami Solid Waste Department: Garbage, recycling and bulky trash pick-up will operate on its regular schedule on Thanksgiving Day.
