What's Open, Closed In Miami-Dade County Christmas Weekend 2020

Here are some closures and schedule changes for government offices, facilities and services over the holiday weekend.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — As Miami-Dade County residents prepare to celebrate Christmas on Friday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services to keep in mind this holiday weekend.

Miami-Dade County government offices: All offices will be closed Friday.

Transportation and Public Works: County transit options will operate on a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day. It will return to its regular weekday schedule on Saturday. All administrative offices will be closed Friday.

Solid Waste Management: Garbage, trash and recycling will not be picked up Friday. Friday’s schedule will move to Saturday.

All neighborhood trash and recycling centers, North and South Dade Landfills, Central, West and Northeast Regional Transfer Stations, the Resources Recovery Facility and all chemical collection centers will be closed Friday.

All administrative offices will be closed Friday.

Miami-Dade Public Libraries: All public libraries will close Friday through Sunday.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools: All public schools are closed through Jan. 4.

Miami-Dade County COVID-19 testing sites:

The following sites will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas: Manuel Artime Theater, Marlins Park, De Hostos Senior Center, Miami Beach Convention Center walk-up, Crandon Park, Amelia Earhart Park, Sherbondy Park, Hard Rock Stadium, Haulover Park, Home Depot (Deerwood), Zoo Miami and West Perrine Health Center.

The following sites will be closed on Christmas Day only: Salvation Army, Healthy Little Havana, Stephen P. Clark Center, Joseph Caleb Center, Miami Beach Convention Center Drive-Through, Tropical Park, Cagni Park, Vacant Costco, Morgan Levy Park, Youth Fairgrounds at Tamiami Park, Dolphin Mall, South Dade Government Center, Homestead Air Reserve Park and Harris Field

The following sites will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:

  • Care 4 U Community Health Center (4690 NW 7th Street, Miami)
  • Miami-Beach Community Health Center locations (710 Alton Road, 11645 Biscayne Blvd. and 1221 71st Street, Miami Beach)
  • Medrite Urgent Care (542 W 41st Street, Miami Beach)
  • Larkin Community Hospital (1475 W 49th Place, Hialeah)
  • Village of Pinecrest (12645 Pinecrest Pkwy., Pinecrest), Christmas Eve only until 6 p.m.
  • CareSpot Urgent Care (18706 NW 67th Ave.)

The following sites will close early on Christmas Eve:

  • Salvation Army (911 W Flagler Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Stephen P. Clark Center (111 NW 1st Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Healthy Little Havana (5515 SW 12th Ave.): closes at 10 a.m.
  • Joseph Caleb Center (5400 NW 22nd Ave.): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Miami Beach Convention Center Drive-Through (1901 Convention Center Drive): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Key Biscayne (100 Harbor Drive, Key Biscayne): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Tropical Park (7900 SW 40th Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Cagni Park (13498 NE 8th Ave.): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Vacant Costco (14585 Biscayne Blvd.): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Morgan Levy Park (5300 NW 102nd Ave.): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Youth Fairgrounds at Tamiami Park (10901 SW 24th Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Dolphin Mall (11401 NW 12th Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Kendale Lakes Branch Library (15202 SW 88th Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • South Dade Government Center (10710 SW 211th Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Homestead Air Reserve Park (12200 SW 268th Street): closes at 1 p.m.
  • Harris Field (675 N Homestead Blvd.): closes at 1 p.m.

City of Miami government offices: All city offices and facilities will be closed on Christmas Day.

City of Miami Solid Waste Department: There will be no garbage, bulky trash or recycling services on Christmas Day. Operations will resume Monday.
