Woman Takes Plunge From Venetian Causeway

Miami Beach police initially feared that the woman who fell from the Venetian Causeway may have been trying to commit suicide.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A woman plunged off the Venetian Causeway early Thursday morning and police initially feared it might have been an attempt to take her own life.

But when first responders from the Miami Beach Fire and Police Departments arrived at Dade Boulevard and Purdy Avenue they soon realized that it was not a suicide attempt at all. (Sign up for our free Daily Newsletters and Breaking News Alerts for the Miami Patch.)

The woman simply had too much to drink.
