South Beach Shooting Reported Along Ocean Drive
No one was injured in the Friday night incident in one of the busiest areas of Miami Beach.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — A man was detained on Friday night in connection with a "non-contact" shooting that occurred along Ocean Drive. Miami Beach police confirmed that no one was injured. The incident comes as the city gears up for a number of Gay Pride Week festivities in the area.
"MBPD is working a non-contact shooting, which occurred near 10 Street and Ocean Drive at approximately 9 p.m.," Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department told Patch. He added that there were no victims.

"A subject vehicle was stopped minutes later along the 900 block of Collins Avenue," Rodriguez explained. "One male subject is currently detained."
The Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival is scheduled to begin on Saturday at noon between 11 to 14 Streets on Ocean Drive, just one block north of the reported shooting incident.

At the time of the shooting, there was a VIP reception taking place at the W South Beach, which is located at 2201 Collins Ave.
