BAYONET POINT, FL — A 24-year-old man from Honduras was killed Sunday in a crash at Embassy Boulevard and Cochise Lane.

At 9:37 p.m., the 24-year-old, whose identity has not been released, was driving a Ford Focus east on Embassy Boulevard approaching the intersection of Crabtree Lane.

Paula Tsurara, 41, of Tampa was driving a Hyundai Kona west on Embassy Boulevard approaching the intersection of Cochise Lane.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Ford Focus lost control, traveled onto the south sidewalk, struck a metal sign and re-entered the road, hitting Tsurara nearly head on.

The driver of the Focus died at the scene. Tsurara and her passenger, Wanda K. Artessia, 61, of Port Richey, were taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with serious injuries.
