15-Year-Old Girl Dies When Car Struck By Tow Truck

SPRING HILL, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into an accident involving a tow truck that was backing up and fatally struck a 15-year-old girl.

On Monday shortly after 3 p.m., a Tatum's Towing flatbed tow truck was reversing from a driveway onto County Line Road west of Springtime Street when it drove into the path of a Mazda Miata traveling east on County Line Road. The Miata struck the flatbed portion of the truck.

The 15-year-old passenger died at the scene. The 17-year-old driver was not injured.
