PORT RICHEY, FL — Two Pasco County men are facing child abuse charges, one for striking a 16-year-old girl and the other for throwing an 11-year-old boy to the ground and kicking him, according to sheriff's deputies.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said they arrested Brian Livingston, 45, of Lotus Drive in Port Richey for child abuse and two counts of domestic battery after he was accused of striking a 16-year-old girl in the throat and battering the girl's mother.

The teen told deputies that Livingston came into her bedroom, and they got into a fight because she wouldn't give him the password to unlock her cell phone. She said that's when Livingston hit her in the throat with a closed fist. When the girl's mother tried to intervene, deputies said Livingston grabbed a table and threw it at the mother, injuring her arm.

When deputies interviewed the teen girl, they said her throat hurt so bad that she had to write down her answers to questions. Deputies said it was apparent that the teen was in a great deal of pain.

Deputies also charged Livingston with battering the mother a few days before this incident.

The mother said Livingston became angry at her while they were in a vehicle. He grabbed her by the hair and began banging her head against the window and the dashboard, according to deputies. He then grabbed her seat belt and wrapped it around her neck. His actions caused abrasions and bruises on her neck, jaw and chin.

Livingston was arrested Tuesday and is being held without bail.

Deputies also arrested Jason Schiedenhelm, 36, of Country Club Drive in Bayonet Point after they say he threw an 11-year-old boy to the ground and then kicked him.

According to deputies, Schiedenhelm grabbed the boy by the back of the neck and threw him to the ground where he began to hit him and kick him three or four times in the back, causing bruising and other injuries. The beating was witnessed by the victim's brother.

Schiedenhelm is also being held without bail.
