2-Year-Old Drowns In Backyard Pool In New Port Richey

Despite life-saving efforts, Pasco County Fire Rescue was unable to save a 2-year-old drowning victim on Monday.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Despite life-saving efforts, Pasco County Fire Rescue was unable to save a 2-year-old drowning victim on Monday.

The 2-year-old boy was being watched by his grandfather around 7 p.m. June 18 at a home on Indian Mound Drive. When the grandfather went to the bathroom, the 2-year-old got out of the house and fell into the backyard pool where his grandfather found his floating.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
