3 Cows Killed, 3 Injured After Falling Off Truck On Interstate 75

Three cows were killed and three more injured Tuesday after apparently falling off a truck hauling cattle.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Three cows were killed and three more injured Tuesday after apparently falling out of a cattle carrier attached to a pickup truck.

At 10:44 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol received a call concerning cows in the southbound lanes of the interstate. Units from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission also responded.

They found six cows, three dead and three with injuries. The cows appear to have fallen from the truck's cattle carrier.

The highway was closed until 1 p.m.

The hauler did not remain at the scene and the highway patrol is attempting to locate him. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FHP by calling 813-558-1800.
