Motorcyclist Arrested After Hit-And-Run Death Of 7-Year-Old Boy

A 7-year-old Port Richey boy was killed Saturday while walking across the road with his mother and siblings.

PORT RICHEY, FL — A 19-year-old Port Richey man has been arrested after being accused of a hit-and-run crash that killed a 7-year-old boy.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:23 p.m. Saturday, the boy was walking across Regency Park Boulevard at the intersection of King Arthur Boulevard with his mother and siblings.

A motorcycle traveling north on Regency Park Boulevard at a high rate of speed collided with the boy and fled the scene.

The child was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

On Sunday, the motorcyclist arrived at the Port Richey Police Department and surrendered to FHP troopers. Shaun Elliott Wyrich was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death and no motorcycle endorsement.
