79-Year-Old Spring Hill Man Killed In Crash On U.S. 41

SHADY HILLS, FL — A 79-year-old Spring Hill man was killed Friday night in a crash at the intersection of Bowman Road and U.S. 41.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 10:15 p.m., a 24-year-old Lutz man was driving a pickup truck east on Bowman Road while the Spring Hill man was headed north on U.S. 41. in a van.

Troopers said the pickup truck turned left onto U.S. 41 into the path of the van, then collided with a tree.

The Spring Hill man was taken the hospital where he died. His passenger, a 59-year-old Weeki Wachee woman suffered serious injuries. The Lutz man suffered minor injuries, according to the highway patrol.
