More than 80 firefighters encompassing 30 fire rescue units were called out to battle a three-alarm fire involving four houses in Hudson.

HUDSON, FL — More than 80 firefighters encompassing 30 fire rescue units were called out to battle a three-alarm fire involving four houses in Hudson Monday morning.

Around 6 a.m., Pasco County Fire Rescue was called to a house fire in the 6500 block of Driftwood Drive in Hudson. When firefighters from Engine 10 arrived, they reported three homes on fire with heavy winds pushing the fire toward other structures.

Due to the heavy fire and wind conditions, firefighters quickly upgraded the fire to a third alarm.

One person was flown by medical helicopter from the scene with severe burn injuries.

Four homes were damaged; two were total losses. Additionally, several vehicles were damaged.

Firefighters were called in from Hernando County Fire Rescue and New Port Richey Fire Rescue to help fight the fire.
