HOLIDAY, FL — An 80-year-old Holiday woman has died after being struck and run over by a pickup truck driven by her grandson Saturday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Dec. 28, Nicholas J. Reaver, 23, of Fort Walton Beach had driven to Holiday with his mother, Barbara A. Reaver, 63, to visit his grandmother.

At 3:35 p.m., Reaver was preparing to leave his grandmother's home on Dynasty Drive. He put his Dodge Ram into reverse and accidentally struck his grandmother, Mary Loui Groyon, who was walking behind the truck. Troopers said she fell to the ground and was run over.

Groyon was taken to AdventHealth North Pinellas County where she later died.

Charges against Reaver are pending.
