PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 45-year-old Jacksonville man was killed, and his passenger was seriously injured on Sunday after the SUV he was driving crashed into a Pasco County home, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The Kia SUV was traveling south on Angus Valley Drive "at a high rate of speed" when the driver lost control at the intersection of Dayflower Boulevard and collided with the home around 5:20 p.m., FHP said.
The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene. An adult male passenger was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
A 57-year-old woman who lived at the home wasn't injured in the collision but was taken to a hospital because of the trauma of the incident, authorities said.
