There were no fatalities in the Tuesday morning wreck in Jacksonville.

While the car involved in a Tuesday morning crash with an Amtrak train in the Jacksonville area didn’t fare so well, authorities are reporting that no one was killed in the wreck that sliced the vehicle in half.
The incident unfolded in Jacksonville’s Riverside area when a train and car collided, First Coast News is reporting. The crash happened on College Street and Willow Branch Avenue.
Three people were inside the vehicle at the time of the collision, including a pregnant woman. Both passengers and the driver were ultimately taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, News4Jax reported.

It seems Stacey Peterson Jr., 21, was heading north on Willowbranch Avenue when the train struck the car, the station reported. Alexandria Mincey, 26, was thrown from the backseat following the collision. She is reportedly six weeks pregnant.
The crash remains under investigation. Family members of those in the car have told news outlets that the crossing arm did not come down.

Tampa also witnessed a train versus car wreck over the weekend. In that case, however, the driver, Jermaine Lamar Williams, 26, is accused of going around vehicles at a railroad crossing. Williams’ vehicle was t-boned by an oncoming Amtrak. He, too, suffered only minor injuries despite the fact the train was doing about 78 mph at the time, authorities said.
Williams was cited by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies for driving around or under a railroad crossing.
In March, a woman suffered injuries when she was struck by a train while walking in the Lakeland area. Police said she was texting at the time.
