Army Veteran Receives Much-Needed New Roof Thanks To Contractor
A U.S. Army veteran has a new roof over his head thanks to a local roofing contractor.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A U.S. Army veteran has a new roof over his head thanks to a local roofing contractor.
On Thursday, Farrell Roofing, an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, replaced the roof on the New Port Richey home of veteran Gerald Rice, 5318 Van Doren Ave., as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.
Farrell Roofing of Port Richey donated all the labor for the project. The family-owned and -operated company headed by Stephen John Farrell II, serves Pinellas County and western Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando counties.

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, Rice was selected as a recipient of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor veterans. Since the inception of the program in 2016, more than 170 military members have received new roofs.
