Auto Shop Donates $3,766 to SPCA Suncoast

The donation arose from Ice Cold Air Discount Auto Repair's annual pumpkin carving contest.

The critters at the SPCA Suncoast chapter are the official beneficiaries of Ice Cold Air Discount Auto Repair’s fourth annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. The shop will donate $3,766 to the charity on Saturday.

Ice Cold Air based the donation amount on the number of “likes” the contest winner received during a Facebook contest. Each vote during the contest – for any pumpkin in the event – was worth a $2 donation. Different Ice Cold Air locations competed, but the 11930 U.S. 19 shop in Port Richey beat out all comers.

Alexis Gioe, manager of the Port Richey store, selected SPCA Suncoast as the winning charity.

“We are thrilled that Ice Cold Air chose us as their benefitting charity,” Gail Fawcett, SPCA Suncoast president, was quoted in a media release as saying. “This donation will help us save, protect and improve the lives of animals and provide compassionate care for homeless pet animals waiting for adoption in our community.”
