Bicyclist, Dog Die After Being Struck By Pickup Truck On U.S. 19
A 35-year-old bicyclist and her dog have died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing U.S. 19 early Friday morning.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 35-year-old bicyclist and her dog have died after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the intersection of U.S. 19 and New York Avenue Friday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 2:43 a.m., Nora Anne Casson of Homosassa was riding her bike accompanied by her dog when she began crossing the intersection outside the marked crosswalk and against the pedestrian control signal.
Gary Clendennen, 65, of Cleveland, Texas, was heading south on U.S. 19 and proceeded through the green light at the intersection when he struck Casson and her dog.

Casson was transported to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where she died. Her dog died at the scene.
