NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A boater has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the boat struck a marker in the Anclote River Tuesday morning.

According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, witnesses said the lone boater was thrown overboard after the boat crashed. Fire rescue is unsure how long the boater was in the water before help arrived.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the crash.
