Body Found in Anclote River

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found in the Anclote River Wednesday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, a call came in just after 5 p.m. about the body found near Riverbank Drive in New Port Richey. Members of the sheriff’s office’s marine unit recovered the body around 8 p.m.

The man’s identity is not yet known. The cause of death is also unknown pending the outcome of a medical examiner’s review.
