Body Found In New Port Richey Canal Identified
Pasco Sheriff's detectives have identified the elderly man found floating in a New Port Richey canal on Tuesday as Donald Haffner, 84.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's detectives have identified the elderly man found floating in a New Port Richey canal on Tuesday as Donald Haffner, 84.
Haffner was found in the waterway that runs near Sea Colony off Sea Forest Drive.
A subsequent search identified Haffner as a resident of the assisted living facility at St. Andrews Landings, 5852 Sea Forest Drive. A review of the surveillance system at the facility showed Haffner leaving his apartment at 6:29 a.m. on April 23.

No foul play is suspected in the death, which remains under investigation. The cause of death is pending the medical examiner's report.
