Just CrossPoint: How to Stay Positive

Staying positive is a skill that requires the manifested power and presence of God.  Pastor Andre Erasmus shares some thoughts about how we can accomplish this in our day-to-day lives.

We have the responsibility to stir up the power of God in us. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and when He works the power falls upon us.   He pushes us out of our comfort zone so that we can believe in miracles. The Book of Ephesians 6:13 says:  “Take up the full armor and stand on His promises! We will trample on snakes and scorpions and nothing will harm us.”

This week my wife got bit by a spider.   We prayed over Wilna's hand and trusted God for healing , but the bite got progressively worse.  We were convinced that God can heal through many ways!  We trusted and believed for healing and spoke God's Word over and over.  She took the medication she had been given but also continued standing on God’ promises of healing. We stirred up the gift within us as we walked faith and not by sight.

Look at Psalm 91 and claim it as God's Word for you for the difficult situation you may be in. Let God confirm His Word for you as He did for us!  He is not a respecter of persons, which means His power is for everyone who believes.   He will give His angels charge over you .  Hide in the secret place of the most High God. Through Psalm 91 you can claim God's secret place for you.

There are four things the Lord promises us:                                                                                                                         

1. His secret place is a fortress - it is safe

2. He is there, don't be afraid! He is in the secret hiding place WITH you, thus   you are not alone!

3. God will protect and defend you. Verse 8 says only with your eyes shall you experience the destruction. ... No harm will come near you.  Whatever situation you are in, whatever circumstances, God will be your shield and buckler. Under His wings we are protected and safe! He is a good God.

4. He will comfort you and bless you with a long and contented life if you stay in Him! Stir up the gift and the power of God on you to know that nothing is bigger than our God!
