Candles that burn unevenly are fairly common. The only symptom is that one or more sides melt faster than others. There are several common causes of this.
Burning In A Draft
The slightest draft will cause a candle to burn unevenly by creating a steady stream of heated air (from the flame) against one side of the candle.
Prevention – Avoid burning candles in a draft.

Wick Not Centered
If the wick in single wick candles is not well centered, it may cause the candle to burn unevenly.
If it leans to one side, the flame will melt the wax on one side of your candle and not the other. To straighten the wick, gently push it with aknife until the wick is centered in the jar. Plus this primes the wick for the next lighting and the wick doesn’t dry out.
