Child Porn Charges Filed Against Pasco Corrections Officer: Sheriff

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL — A Pasco County corrections officer who worked with juveniles was charged with possession of child pornography, authorities said.

Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a man living in the county who had recently been watching child porn online, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

During their investigation, they found that the device accessing the child porn was located at a home in Weeki Wachee and identified William Wilkinson as a suspect.

Wilkinson, a corrections officer who works for the Pasco Juvenile Detention Center, refused to answer any questions regarding the child pornography, the sheriff’s office said.

He was booked into the Hernando County Detention Center on four counts of possession of child pornography.

Initially, Wilkinson was held without bond. Following his first appearance, he was released on a $40,000 bond.
