City Of New Port Richey’s Gets 1st Electric Fleet Vehicle

The city of New Port Richey has announced the addition of its first electric vehicle to its fleet.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The city of New Port Richey has announced the addition of its first electric vehicle to its fleet.

The new 2020 Nissan Leaf will be used by the city’s Fire Department Rental Inspection Division. The Nissan Leaf comes with a 40kWh battery and provides a range of up to 150 miles.

“By incorporating electric vehicles into the fleet, it demonstrates the city’s commitment to the environment and the improvement of the overall quality of life for our residents," Mayor Rob Marlowe said.

An additional Nissan Leaf will be added to the motor pool fleet within the next couple of weeks and two more electric vehicles have been budgeted for fiscal year 2020-21. The city also plans to install five new electric vehicle stations at different facilities around the city. The city’s goal is to integrate more electric and hybrid vehicles into its fleet over the coming years.
