Clearwater To Extend Natural Gas To Pasco County Development
Clearwater Gas System will extend natural gas service to more than 660 single-family homes in Pasco County.

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Gas System, in partnership with Lennar Homes, will extend natural gas service to more than 660 single-family homes in Pasco County over the next few years.
The gas service partnership will include the installation of energy-efficient gas water heaters, gas ranges and gas dryers in each home.
The housing development, known as Bryant Square, is currently under construction at the corner of Little Road and State Road 54.

At current rates, natural gas is about 65 percent cheaper to operate compared to electricity. The direct use of natural gas achieves 92 percent efficiency, far better than any other energy source, and it cuts carbon emissions nearly in half, according to the Clearwater Gas System.
A recent American Gas Association study showed the average total savings per year for households that use natural gas for water heating, cooking and clothes drying is $874 compared to homes using electricity for typical household appliances.

Clearwater Gas System, 777 Maple St. in Clearwater, is the fourth largest municipal gas system in Florida and ranks 34th out of nearly 1,000 public gas systems in the United States. It provides natural and propane gas service to approximately 27,000 residential and commercial customers in a 330-square-mile service territory, and includes 20 municipalities as well as unincorporated areas of Pinellas, Pasco and parts of Hillsborough counties.
