'Controlled Campus' at Ridgewood High School

The school was in controlled campus status due to the threats of students fighting.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL - Ridgewood High School was placed on a “controlled campus” status Friday due to threats of students fighting, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The school was following a controlled dismissal procedure after fight rumors, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies are on scene to ensure campus safety. The sheriff’s office reports buses are running 30 minutes late.

There is conflicting information on the situation at the school. According to the Pasco County Schools Twitter account, the school was placed on lockdown as of 30 minutes ago as law enforcement investigated more fight rumors. The school said students will be dismissed when officials are certain it is safe.
