Husband's Explosive Gas Led to Wife's Arrest: Cops
The Florida woman was charged with battery.

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – A 55-year-old Florida woman faces domestic battery charges after Port St. Lucie Police say she took action to clear the air in her bedroom.
The odorous incident began to unfold on Dec. 11 when Dawn and Donald Meikle were in bed in the wee hours of the morning. Donald, an arrest reported stated, “passed gas” in the room. As he continued to break wind, the report says Dawn had enough. She’s accused of first elbowing her husband on his arm. When that didn’t stop Donald’s gas, Dawn kicked him and “eventually kicked him out of their bed,” the report said.
At that point, Donald attempted to restrain Dawn “for his own safety,” the report noted. While attempting to restrain his wife, it seems Donald managed to accidentally split her lip open.

At some point, Dawn got up and went into the couple’s bathroom. She is the one, the reported noted, who called 911. She also “sprayed pepper spray in the air to keep Donald out of the restroom” while she placed that call.

When an officer arrived on the scene shortly after 3:30 a.m., he noticed several scratches, between 6 and 8 inches in length, across Donald’s chest. He also noted Donald’s T-shirt was ripped in three different places.
While questioning Dawn, the officer found out the woman’s split lip resulted from an accident. When asked if her husband punched her, Dawn replied, “No,” the report said.
The officer gave Donald a domestic violence pamphlet. Dawn, however, got to spend the rest of the night in the St. Lucie County Jail. She was booked in on a domestic battery charge, a misdemeanor. It’s unclear if she found the accommodations more suitable and sweeter smelling.
