DOMA parts struck down!

It's about time that ALL married couples enjoy the same financial benefits on a federal level.  Why should same sex couples have to pay a higher inheritance tax, not be allowed to claim a spouse on income tax and enjoy the benefits of head of household.

For those who want to argue that it violates their "Religious Rights" well denying same sex couples to marry is against my religious rights, and it goes against what my church teaches.  That God created us all equally and loves us unconditionally.  This also means that if 2 adults want to commit and show their love and have God bless it, then so be it.  God created us to experience love.  It is MEN's twisted views on what they think God wants that has caused so much pain and suffering for almost 2 thousand years.

It is because of religious interpretations that we have wars, we have women as second class citizens and we have same sex couples denied equal benefits of marriage.

Be The Light Spiritual and Wellness Center is not a gay church - we are a church of God, a loving and welcoming church to those who are lost and looking for God's help and blessing.  Some in the community may say that we are evil, yet we're not the one's doing the judging.  They may not agree with our views about psychics, prophets, seers and healers.  That's OK though, their great books were written by psychics, prophets and seers.

This great nation of ours, founded on freedoms and equality is now one step closer to having equality for all, not just a select few.
